Project Description
This project required a lot of machining at the Thayer School
Machine Shop. All the parts were made except for the base.
The engine runs on kerosene which heats the air chamber and in
turn drives a single piston to turn a fly wheel. Overall it was a great project for learning about thermodynamics and specifically
the Stirling Cycle. It was also key in learning how to use every machine in the Thayer School Machine Shop.
